Is your garden overflowing with produce?
Do you need help harvesting your fruit trees?
Would you like to share your bounty with the community?
Please don’t let any local food go to waste!
We collect over two tons of fresh produce each year!
- You can drop your extra produce at the Master Gardener’s Share The Spare table at the Blacksburg Farmers Market, corner of Draper Ave and Roanoke, Saturdays from 8 am to 2 pm. They will distribute it to local groups who need fresh produce.
- You can ask for volunteers to help you harvest your trees – at least 1/3 of the harvest will go to needy families through local food banks. If desired, the homeowner may keep 1/3 of the harvest and up to 1/3 of the harvest will go to the pickers!
- We welcome volunteers for our harvesting team! Ask how you could help in our effort!
